Administrative Section |
|
The
Joint Secretary (adm) and his
subordinates are entrusted with the
work of administration of the
department. He is assisted by Deputy
Secretary, Under Secretary and other
staff for carrying out the function
.The main function is general
administration in terms of service
matter. The manpower planning and
development, implementation of the
welfare measures for the employees
working in the Department and
coordination with other departments
of the state government are other
measure function of the
administrative section.

Accounts Section |
|
The Senior
Accounts Officer- I, Accounts Officer-II
and staff look after the finance
function of the Department. The
financial planning and control,
monitoring of the revenue collection and
preparation of budget and monitoring of
the expenditure are the measure
functions of the accounts section. The
section is responsible for coordinating
with the office of the Accountant
General and the Finance and Planning
Department of the Government of Sikkim.
The Senior Accounts officer and the
Accounts Officer are the financial
adviser to the head of the department .

Town
Planning Section |
|
The town
Planning section is headed by the Deputy
Chief Town planner .She is assisted by
Town Planner, Assistant Town Planners ,
draughtsman and other staff. The main
function being planning of towns,
regulation of construction of buildings,
passing the blue print plans, monitoring
the constructions process and allotment
of housing sites in urban areas.

Civil
Engineering Section |
|
The
Additional Chief Engineer is the head of
the section and is assisted by
Superintending Engineer (south /west)
and Superintending Engineer
(north/east). The Superintending
Engineer (south /west) is assisted by
Divisional engineer. The office of the
division is at Jorethang, South Sikkim.
The division office looks after the
works of south and west Sikkim. The
divisional engineer is assisted by
Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineers
and other staff.. The superintendent
engineer( north/east) is assisted by the
Divisional Engineer( north /east),
Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers
and other staff. The engineering section
is mainly entrusted with planning and
construction of developmental works,
implementation of projects and also
regulation of construction of buildings
in notified towns. |

Sanitation Section |
|
The Joint
Secretary is assisted by two Bazaar
Officers in North/East and Bazaar
Officers in South/West districts of
Sikkim, the Sanitary Inspectors and
Safai Karmacharis. The Sanitation
Section is responsible for keeping the
town areas clean and cleaning the jhoras
in the town areas. There are fleet of
ten vehicles in UD & HD for the purpose. |
Licence
Section |
|
The Joint
Secretary is the in charge of licence
section. Three Bazaar Officers and staff
are engaged for verification and issue
of licences. The main function of the
Section is issue of trade licences for
carrying out the business as per the
legal provisions of Trade Licence Act
1985 amended from time to time. |

Amusement Tax Section |
|
One Deputy
secretary and his staff are entrusted
with the work of amusement
/entertainment tax collection from
cinema halls, video halls, cable
operators, theatres programmes and from
pool games, besides issue of licences. |

SJSRY
Cell |
|
The
Poverty Alleviation Programmes are
implemented through this cell. The
Chairman is the Commissioner cum
Secretary of UD&HD. The Additional
secretary is the Director of the
programme. The Project Officer is the
Deputy Secretary who is assisted by the
Community Officers. |

Information Technology Section |
|
One
Assistant Director (IT) looks after
miscellaneous matters relating to
computerization and technical guidance
in respect of computer and its
peripheries. |
|
Electrical Section |
|
One
Assistant Engineer (Electrical) is
assisted by Junior Engineers are
entrusted with the work of
electrification of new projects
undertaken by the Department. |

RTI
Section |
|
Deputy
Secretray - I is assisted by other
subordinate staffs to look into the
matter pertaining to Right to
Information. |
|
Sikkim
Housing Development Board |
|
The board
is under the administrative control of
the Urban Development & Housing
Department. Chairman, who is nominated
by the Government, heads the Board. The
Additional Chief Engineer is the
Secretary to the Housing Board. The
Housing Board provides construction
loans to Government employees. The Board
Also carries out construction of LIG and
MIG units for sale. |
